Recommended Books to Enjoy With Your Child

Charlotte's Web is one of those books that just tugs at my heart strings. My children were fascinated by the story. It is a charming way to read about how life really is. The themes of the book include love, unselfishness, and growing up. It's a great book to grow up to!

How to Train Your Dragon
This is such a humorous book and one that we really enjoyed reading. The dragons, the funny illustrations, the sensitive and brainy main character - Hiccup, and the lessons that everyone learns about courage and using your brain make this book a real page turner!

The Phantom Tollbooth
This has to be one of our favorites! It is an adventure about a boy named Milo who learns that learning  a worthy pursuit. He meets King Azaz of Dictionopolis and his brother, the Mathematician while overcoming many characters, like the sluggish Lethargians and the Ever Present Word Snatcher. It is a witty and puny read that doesn't fail to teach good life lessons!

A book about three children who meet Mrs. Price, a witch in training. This book was very different from the movie. It was enjoyable for my children and I, but, may not be for a very young audience.

The Mouse and the Motorcycle I loved this book growing up and was excited to share it with my children.  It is a great adventure about a young boy who meets a mouse and lets him ride his shiny toy motorcycle. Fun for all ages!

Another favorite of mine as a kid. This is a delightful book about a young boy named Omri who receives an old cupboard for his birthday and finds out    that its magic can bring plastic figurines to life! This was a really fun read for all of my children, they couldn't wait to find out what happens to the Indian and to their friendship!

The 7 Habits of Happy Kids This is a wonderful book that discusses some good habits such as, taking responsibility for your own actions and work comes before play. My kids really love this book. There is a parent - child discussion section at the end of each story!
